Becci (rubex) joined the forum a few months back and recently has been on here quite a bit

unfortuantly her 11 week old baby jacob went into hospital last night, he isn't very well :). he was suddenly very very upset and out of nowhere the side of his head around his ear swole up  i took them both to the hospital last night and he has been kept in and is still there tonight and will be for another few days at least. So becci is stuck in hospital with a very unwell baby and she got a bit scared. still not positive on what it is but it seems to be some form of infection, baby is on antibiotics into his hand which he didn't like

it is obviously very scary and not very nice for either of them, so i thought it would be nice to get a thread going of support for them. to give becci something nice to read and cheer her up. its not nice being stuck in a room 24/7 with just a camp bed, especially when her baby is so ill

for those that are struggling to remember who rubex is here her car

cheers guys this will cheer her up :) (and baby jacob if he could read :))

bit of an update, he is on a 5 day course of antibiotics but should be fine, just means they will be there untill at least thursday

i think this goes to prove the point of the post i made a week ot two ago about how the NHS is brilliant and people should stop slating it

all the staff at st richards hospital (chichester) have been brilliant, there was no wait when we took him to A & E they rushed him straight through and got a doctor him as soon as they could. they then got moved to the childcare unit while they worked out what it was (still not 100% sure) none of them appear to have seen anything like it before but it is some form of ear infection that has got in places it shouldn't of have.

but anyway the both of them have been very well looked after in the childcare unit by the nurses and doctors there :)

Exactly the NHS especially those at Chichester hospital are lovely people and work so hard to look after their patients...its just the lack of funding that lets these great people down sometimes.

I'm so glad they are keeping St Richards A&E for now! because otherwise its worthing or Portsmouth for us from the Bognor/Chichester area!!

by the way My friend Laura works in St Richs A&E...not that I'm being biased :)

Jeez, that sounds really frightening for both of them and glad to hear that baby Jacob is making a recovery and its nothing too serious.

The NHS do a wonderful job, even private hospitals send patients to them for certain operations i think. It is a shame that they get so much stick for all of the effort that they put in. When the wife was in hospital for 5 weeks giving birth to my daughter (complications, not a long labour lol) they were brilliant, the midwives and other staff couldnt help enough. When the wife had to go back in 4 days later with a bloodclot on the lung, she was seen to right away and constantly looked after :) . Both my wife (nursing aux) and sister (trained nurse) work for the NHS, the missus works in a mental health rehabillitation center and the main thing that I can notice with the NHS is a serious lack of budget.
