Hi,

Just wanted to say hi as this is my first post. Me and my wife Emma have just picked up our new mini today after months of searching. Our mini is a 1969 Morris Cooper in blue, its had several changes made including a 1340cc rebored Cooper S engine and sportspack arches, other than that i know very little about it-hopefully this is the place to learn more!

Thanks for the welcome.

It is a shame that its had sportspack arches fitted-it has had a bare metal rebuild, i think who ever did it basically wanted a tax exempt modern looking sportspack. I know the doors and A panels are from a newer car, it more or less looks like a late rover now. Having just had a read on the forum i doubt it has a genuine cooper s engine-will check the engine number tommorrow. Will get some photos tommorrow and post-im guessing there has been a lot of mods that i havent noticed!

On a positive note the body work is imaculate apart from a bit of corrosion on the chrome lights.

Hi,

Sorry for delay in reply-been busy at work. We took her out for a good run on Wednesday night, unfortunately we kept breaking down every couple of miles and i ended up pushing her home! Ive ordered a whole load of parts to give the igntion system and carb an overhaul, then hopefully with a bit of a tune up she should run much better. I gave the dizzy and rotor a quick clean up today and turned the idle up just as a temp repair til parts arrive next week. We took her out for a proper drive this afternoon and she ran much better. We have also fitted new stereo system, sorted out some bodged up wiring that was hidden behind the dash and given her a quick wash and hoover. Im off tommorrow so will hopefully get a few coats of polish on and have a bit of a clean tidy up. I may also have a look at the Hi-Lo suspension as shes sitting very high at the moment.
