Hi, I'm going to be painting my clutch housing and other bits while the engines out. I was just wondering what type of paint people recommend to use in these areas, ideally something hard wearing etc...

I used silver smooth hammerite as I happened to have some laying around for my gearbox. I used engine enamel on my transfer and clutch cover though. Both went on and look fine

The silver aerosol paint for wheels seems to stick well. If you're particularly keen you could polish 'n lacquer it.

I think a goo slathering of etch primer would help too - and scotchbrite it all to key the surface.
we did this with a gearbox last week ( when I say we I mean cookie ) and its stuck pretty good - used high temp laquer as a final protective coat.
