Hi Sam,your mini is a John Cooper s isn`t it?It could possibly have a tweaked cylinder head and lcb already?
Welcome to TMF.
Hey Pete, yeah think its a John Cooper S conversion, are they quite rare? i didn't even know they made a S in the 90s

And the answer to your question yes it would make a differance, when i started tinkering with my 1275 i put a stage2 head and 1.5 rockers on this was after the usual stage1 exhaust and k&n and it flew.
Will probably go for a stage 3 then and some 1.5 rockers

We see around 15-20bhp increase with our heads and our stage 1 kit. With a good rolling road tune.
You will definatly see a difference.

i was thinking of a stage 3 head and a few other things for my spi too, was looking at your company actually! what exactly can you set up on an spi on the rolling road though? there isnt fuel mixture, ignition advancing/retarding to worry about, is it just the timing? or am i missing a hole lot of stuff?
sorry to hijack the thread!

Chances are that your head is in need of a rebuild. Once rebuilt with the valves sealing properly you'll notice a big difference
