more protection than none lol, my old sump had some lovely battlescars from the clashes its had with old bumpy worn country roads lol. not the best thing for the gearbox me thinks lol

that was my reasoning for buying it in the first place, lucky i had it as i went over a nasty speed bump and it must av gone along the sump guard as it went along to knock the clamps on the exhaust downpipe right off :)

i'd have the alliminum, wont rust and will be lighter, stainless steel one wont rust either but is heavy

The stainless steel won't rust, but the car will where it touches. SS/mild steel in sea water have 1.2volt potential bi metalic corrosion current. The stainless doesn't disappear, the car does and this is why you should never fit SS bolts to your car to make it look pretty or for any reason. Now you might consider that your car will not be in the sea, but there is lots of salt from the road to find its way into your car. Consider how much cars rust here, compared to where they don't salt the roads.

just in time by the sounds of it lol :)

best thing i ever cought with my sump was an already dead badger which i thought i would just go over but no! bang i got it and dragged it all the way to work and it ripped off as i reversed into a spot at work lol. evry 1 was looking at it in the middle of the carpark as they went by it, call me imature but i couldnt stop laughing. untill i got a hint off my foreman that id better clear it as i was seen on the cameras, spade+badger into the bin lol. people where callin me badger boy for a good month lol :) .
