Just wanted to know if I will require and wheel arch or wing modifications to fit 6x12or 6x10 wheels on my 78 Clubman-I'm looking at getting Minilite type wheels if that helps.

Thanks in advance :)

General concensus is any wheel over 5 wide will need the front of the arch cutting.
Obviously depends on the offset of the wheel as to the amount that needs taking out.
Hope that helps.

Okay, thanks. I think I will need to do some more research as I really dont want to cut any metal.

Depends on offset and tyre also.

Oh and suspension quality. Ie if it's pretty much *melonsed* then you'll need to cut them.

Adding to that, if you don't want to cut any metal then you could change your suspension cones for some adjustable ones (e.g. HiLos). If you do that you might be able to sit the body high enough to clear the wheels without it looking too strange.

I am changing from drums to discs, I would love to fit 10" wheels but I think the cost of the 10" disc conversion is going to be too much for my budget. I've seen a few Minis with 5x12 and 6x12" and they look pretty good, the cost of changing to 12" discs is more cost effective too. :)

I love 10" wheels too, my last 69 Cooper S that I had in the late 80s had that set-up. But I currently have a low mileage 1978 Wood and Pickett and I dont want to cut any metal. I had planned to do an R1 conversion, but Im not going through with that now.
