i just got hit by someone coming out of a side road, nothing major-everyone is fine, and the insurance is giving me the option of using 'my own garage' or one of theirs to assess and carry out repairs, only problem is i don't know where to take it to be assessed! I figure their own garages will be more geared towards fixing modern cars, replacing bumpers and such so I want to find a place around Preston that can carry out the work.

Does anyone know where I can take it in the Preston/ Lancashire area? The arches are fibreglass and blended into the body, so I think if that comes off (and it will: it's smashed) then the wing will need repainting and the arch sorting. my usual garage doesn't do that sort of thing, afaik. The door is also caved in, might just need a skin, maybe more and the A-Panel is damaged. Only been back on the road less than 6 months! :'-(

also: what a complete b---ache it is calling insurance companies! I've had to phone three different people who all ask me the same questions, and the DVLA don't even know where I was born! (hire car purposes).

what a terrible day :lol:/

quick edit for pictures:

thanks guys, my insurance co. has suggested Bennett's of Preston, but i've never heard of them, google isn't helping much either. might get in touch with minisport later in the week after checking out the locals.

as for mini technique... it's not quite ready for that giant pile yet!

had you thought of speaking to carol-anne at the Mini Centre preston to see who she can suggest?

Mini Centre Preston - 01772 251 189

Or you can try this place

GT Car Sprays - Cleveleys 01253 878 606‎ - Ask for Josh Cooper - he did the spray job on my mini

Or failing those two try Clancys in Poulton-le-Fylde 01253 882820‎ - insurance approved - they sorted our golf when my sister arse ended a c2 !

Hope you get it sorted

I could recommend a couple of people via PM both are in the Hesketh Bank/ Tarleton area (bout 30min drive from Preston) ... one being my mechanic and body work guy (he is a classic car specialist, loves Minis) and the other has recently done a full re-spray on my mini (also does mechanics etc) If you want their details drop me a PM.
