A little progress ... the "getting worse to get better" stage, and some delicate lacework revealed ...

Posted Image

Nice expensive hinges :D The new door did not fit anywhere to start with -- the frame &
sills were so distorted

Posted Image

The roof went inwards AND upwards and unfortunately Emma's kind donation of a spare screen pillar
didn't quite fit so the existing one is having to be refashioned in situ

Posted Image

More lacework >_< Still the hubs for the new 10 inchers look nice

The original-style one-piece grille panel has arrived, together with a rear quarter panel and
a couple of other panels they were waiting for. Paul the body repairer is about to start replacing the
front end, having got it all square again and matching up in a dry run.

Hoping for another visit in three weeks.

I'm actually too scared to drive Rocky yet. It's 7 weeks since my hip op and I'm not sure about the old leg muscles :P

So happy to see the progress Mr T, really pleased to see Huey back on the road to recovery.

Those alloys which Huey is on - they could have been from a Chelsea couldn't they?

Ah, when I say 3 weeks, I mean after 3 weeks I ring up on a Friday and make a date to go down maybe the following week ... if I'm lucky ...

OK, thanks for all your comments & we have an appointment to view next Tuesday morning. It's a couple of hours' round trip, not like the times I could nip down to the local repair garage at the end of our road. I will get a list of panels used so far and hopefully prices. And more pictures. I forgot to find out where the panels are coming from on our last visit so maybe someone can decipher the label in the second picture from the top? Anyway they may use more than one source.

We will collect usable spare parts to sell on. The Mk 1 grille & moustache are spoken for and Rocky Cooper is already wearing Huey's two new Yokos.
Huey's tyres will definitely be Yokos since the boss (Paul Tupman) thinks Falkens' sidewalls perish before the tread wears out. So a bit contrary to views in this thread!
