Huey passed his MoT today

with one advisory, namely a small exhaust leak.
He is now having his suspension set up properly on his new tens.
The next step is a Vehicle Inspection Check (VIC) which should be at the end of next week, and then it's new road tax and welcome home!![]()
I won't be seeing him till then, so I still have no pix
atleast i won't miss him at devon cafe on sunday which i can't go to
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy for you

Defnit. I must organise one of their alleged free autojumble pitches to sell stuff that's been in the back of the garage for years.Fantastic stuff! How exciting to hear news of Huey's rebirth. Hope he's going to be at Coombe this year so that me and Arthur can admire him
EDIT OK, booked a pitch. It says it's free but you have to buy two entry tickets. I got one OAP concession but had to pay full price for the other, which is ok because a mate from our mini club is bringing some autojumble too.
Did i miss something ?????............................................
PICTURES ??????
and what you got to sell
Robbie
P.S once again thankyou for those pictures matey

It will take a while to sort out after I get Huey back with any leftovers from the conversion to 10s. Rocky is already wearing the two best tyres and all the 8.4" brake kit (the calipers & discs were new) will be kept as an uprate for him. I think maybe the sportspack arches on the damaged side may have sheared off quickly enough to escape too much harmand what you got to sell biggrin.gif anything pickup related i mite have to call first dibbs

It's going to take time!
This doesn't make sense, since "all cars notified to DVLA as ‘written off’ within salvage categories A, B or C are required to pass a vehicle identity check (VIC), conducted by the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA), before DVLA will issue a registration certificate V5C.", according to How to Register a Rebuilt ... Car, http://www.direct.go...icle/DG_4022486. So how can I get a new log book before Huey passes his VIC?
VOSA says, "Please confirm the presence of a VIC marker, as requested on the application form, before submitting any future applications." But the person at the DVLA I spoke to yesterday said she could see Huey had been written off as a Cat C and did I want to be transferred to VOSA to apply for a VIC? Well, I've got news for her: you can't apply for a VIC by phone.
I applied for a VIC online last Thursday. It takes 3 working days for them to reply.
Meanwhile Huey is sitting in the repair garage, taking up space, all ready to go.
Has anyone else been through this? Am I missing something?

Is it possible that Huey has been Cat C previously and passed a VIC and that the insurance company didn't/couldn't put another Cat C marker on him?

Well, I have an HPI report from Trinity House insurance from the date of the most recent accident acknowledging a Cat C insurance loss. I need to find out who else knows this. Apparently not the DVLC. If not, why not? Dammit, this could have been sorted months ago if I'd known about it >Is it possible that Huey has been Cat C previously and passed a VIC and that the insurance company didn't/couldn't put another Cat C marker on him?
Anyway, if I can't get Huey back I at least need to see him now he's all done, so I'll nip down & try for some photos at last.

By all means get a VIC done for your peace of mind, but I wouldn't kick up too much of a fuss about it apparently not being written off - you're better off if it isn't/wasn't
Get it back on the road and then do one of the 'new car text check' things and see if that comes back as previously having a CatC marker on it.

It doesn't need a VIC because it's classed as a private light goods vehicle.
Commercial vehicles (and motorbikes) don't need these checks apparently. You'd think the DVLC could have explained that when I asked them. It was a bright spark at the insurance company who thought of it.
So I've applied for a replacement log book with the blessing of the DVLC. That's £25 instead of £41* and as GraemeC says, no Cat C marker on it is a bonus.
Photoshoot scheduled for Friday!
*On the other hand I get charged more on toll roads and bridges
