I am stripping my gearbox and im trying to remove the main double roller bearing and third motion shaft. In the guide i have they remove it with a slide hammer puller but they are £100!

Do you know if it is possible to drift it out? Or has anyone got a puller i can borrow for a few beers?

Thanks in advanced.

Make yourself a C shaped block out of a piece of 15mm MDF ( or aluminium if you have it available )

Without that you'll not be able to take it out with a slide hammer anyway... but the way I do it is with a soft drift, and the C block, insert the C block between the 1st gear and the double roller ( you can tap the 3rd motion shaft over to create the space but not too hard or your 3rd/4th synchro will split and then its balls and springs everywhere ) then using the drift on the side of the first gear, drift the double roller out...
