Hi, just building another mini... Will be going onto 10" wheels. What are the widest wheels that will fit under standard mini body shell with no arch extentions apart from a silver trim strip? I do have adjustable camber but dont want to run more than nessesary.
Anyone got any pictures of there 10" wheels with no arches.
Thanks, Andy.

My 10x6 revo's are sooooo close to fitting under archless. I've had to spacer the rears to make them fill the wheelarch never mind group 2's.
The fronts stick out by about 1/2" but I think if I was to remove the spacer built into my flange it would fit under.

I'm running a cooper s brake setup by the way.

theres a very long thread on here somewhere its something like 40 pages, and its all about the fezzy conversion and apparently mambas and steelies may not fit due to the inner lip they have.

id try and find the thread but its a reet ball ache to search for it, but i may as well give it a go i got nout else to do atm

this one explains a little but not the one im looking for so will keep searching
http://www.theminifo...x...33881&st=15

heres the one i was after on page 32 is a list of what will and what will not fit
http://www.theminifo...x...sion&st=465

so basically 10" steelies will fit with the use of a 10mm spacer

Its dependent on offset just as much as the width of the rim. I have a set of early 10x5 Mambas which due to the huge offset they have, protrude further than a 10x6 later style Mamba I have seen.

4 1/2 J. 10 inch wheels make for better handling and keeping to a narrower wheel means you dont need ugly arches that spoil the classic line of a Mini.

I have 4.5 x 10" on my rally Cooper 'S' and a spare set of 5" x 10" with Yokos. IThe 5" do stick out a bit as I don't run arch exrtensions, but I've never had a problem with either the police or the scrutineers ar rallies.
The limiting factor really is the fact that you can get no wider than 165 section for 10", so wider than 5" is no advantage, even in the dry, unless you run race slicks and can use 7" with arches in the dry.

I know someone who is running 10x6 Starmags on a car archless. They do stick out, but he's had them on for ages and uses the car everyday and has never been caught out. I was also chatting to a chap who owns a Pickup that's archless and he's got 10x6 Minilights, he's never had any troubles and it's passed numerous MOTs without arches. I'm putting 10x6 Cosmics on without arches, although they will stick out. I think you'll be alright aslong as the car looks finished and not like you've slapped a wide set of wheels on a standard car. Just hope Mr Policeman in your area is a nice guy!

You won't gain anything in terms of peformance with 6" road wheels as the widest tyres for 10" are 165 section and the optimum wheel width for a 165 is 4.5" to 5". Any wider and the tyre wall sits at a not-the-best angle to the rim for the tyre to work at its best, thus reducing the handling and road-holding capabilities.
