Can any body please shed some light on electric fuel pumps please

whats the advantages/disadvantages of the solid state over cylinder type
how do I know which type/fuel flow rate to buy
what size filter king do I need 85/67mm bowl and what is the differance in flow and should I get the gauge type

I was thinking the silver top 'fast road' cylinder type pump would be ok but this is for up to 200bhp and has 6.0-7.0 p.s.i/35 gallons per hr flow rate,
whereas the standard road silver top is for upto 150bhp and has 4.0-5.5 p.s.i/30 gallons per hr flow rate

My set up is 1340cc, stage 3 head, sw5 cam, twin 1.5" su's, megajolt ignition and will be road use only, I also have bought the standard pump blanking plate already

Any advice greatley appreciated

Thanks, Andy

The PDF won't load for me so I'll offer some general comments.

If you are using SUs carbs, you want a lower pressure pump than those you mentioned. Aim for something close to 3 PSI. The cylindrical Facet 40002E and 477060E pumps have a max pressure of 4 PSI but have a lower limit of 2.75 PSI. You may be OK if the pump is on the low end of that range but keep an eye on the carb(s) and anticipate that you may need to add a pressure regulator.

As for flow rate, both the above mentioned pumps will deliver 34 GPH. That's more than 4 times the rating of the SU AUF-200 series pump. Of course, to get that full flow potential you would probably need to run larger fuel lines/hose. However, even with the stock lines you will be OK.

Both the cylindrical and brick type Facet pumps are solid state. The cylindrical type are quieter and already have a built in filter. However, the cylindrical type cost more.

For others having trouble loading the PDF link above, the link below is to a list of cylindrical Facet pumps and their specs:
