Hi, I'm keith (jones), a bit new to this sort of thing (in fact my first ever forum ) and I am looking for some help. Apologies that my first contact is to be on the 'ask'. Hopefully, I will be able to 'offer' in due course.

Is there anyone out there who can help or offer advice. I have a 'J' reg 5 door Rover Metro 1.1s and the fuel filler neck and sleeve are 'shot'. Are replacements available anywhere or can something be made to do the job? It is very low mileage and in excellent condition (one previous owner - an old lady - TRUE!) and it would be a great shame to junk it for the sake of these two small items.

I live in the Folkestone area if that is of any help.

Keith

look in your local yellow pages for car and commercial vehicle dismantlers. ring around and someone should have one. i'm not sure about new though, but your right in saying it shouldn't be scrapped for a couple of small problems like that.

Thanks wassupcrew, i'll keep trying but all enquiries have drawn a blank so far. seemingly this is a common problem with the metro and finding the parts is difficult. thanks for your encouragement. might have to get something made.

I think the problem has been solved. I have found a new filler neck with Bradgate Motors (Yorkshire) through 'Find A Part'. Not cheap but they are in short supply. The process was extremely fast - breathtakingly so! If the correct part is delivered then I will let folk know as 'Find A Part' and Bradgate need to be congratulated. My thanks also to you wassupcrew for your help. Much appreciated.
