I'm sure someone will tell me if I'm wrong but this method should work for painting head light rings and last a long time if done well.

1: Rub the rings down and make sure you go back to steel.
2: Paint with a couple coats of etching primer and allow to dry.
3: Rub down again with wet and dry sand paper to ensure a smooth finish.
4: Paint with a few coats of your desired color, allow to dry and admire your work.
5: You could also add a few coats of lacquer and polish the rings if you want them to really shine.

LOL soz I have a colander brain. I only found out about them on here. Someone posted up a link not so long ago. I came so close to buying a pair as I thought I would want some in the future and of course sods law would mean I'd never find them again. I now it appears I cant find them any more. If anyone does have any luck let me know. I'm gonna buy a pair for the hell of it.

That's what I intend to do.... when I finally get round to it

Out of interest how much do you's lot reckon you'd be looking at to powdercoat the bumpers, grill and headlmp rings?

honestly rubbing them down doesn't really work, chrome is not a coating and cant be sanded back, i tryed it, it went all matte then i wiped my finger over it it went shiny again. powdercoat is the way forward
