The current battery (035?) is losing charge and after a couple of days does not have enough juice to start the car on cold days. Fine if I trickle charge it the whole time but that is not practical! It is not exactly new......
Engine is a 1330 with an uprated Minispares alternator (12 months old) at 70amps. I run four spots as well as the heads and a stereo (no amp) but in this rubbish weather I am using the wipers, heater fan and rear-window demister most of the time. Not easy on the circuits!
I have read various threads about the 075 Pug 306 battery etc but would appreciate a little advice with specific reference to my car.
Thanks!

038 specs
Premium Car Battery
Voltage - 12V
Capacity - 38Ah
CCA(SAE) - 280A
075 specs
Premium Car Battery
Voltage - 12V
Capacity - 60Ah
CCA(SAE) - 525A
pretty much double the capacity, 075 is a good battery will run you mini no problem. Got one on mine.
Cold cranking amps (CCA) is a measurement of the number of amps a battery can deliver at 0 degrees F for 30 seconds and not drop below 7.2 volts. So a high CCA battery rating is good especially in cold weather.

I have got this one fitted currently

Expensive, and it is a tight fit in the Mini battery box but a very powerful battery and well worth the expense.

Go here
http://www.carbatteryshop.co.uk/
type 075 in the search box, all are around the £43 mark, I certainly wouldn't pay nearly £100
