Am just wondering..how easy is it to replace the headlining inside my mini! Mines a funny off white/grey colour and has some paint sprays on it so I'm looking (in the not tooooo distant future) to change it!

How easy is it to do?
How expensive woul dit be to do it?

Cheers, Pixie

i think this is one of the hardest jobs i did when rebuilding my mini, because you hve to take all the windows and seasls out of the car, and then try and glue it all back into place,

its very fiddley, but good to do, may be worth spending that little bit extra and getting someone whos done it before to do it, then they get to put all the windows back in for you too

maybe not in just an afternoon this time though! I think we'd need at least a weekend to ensure its done properly! (could also take the opportunity to fit new seals all round and some opening rear windows?)

word of advice. take you time and be patient... It took me a week the first time to get it right, but now, 4 years later, it's still taught and no sags...

I did write a piece on here a while ago, maybe worth a search if it's still here....

I spent a good while reading that post that you did about headlinings JG, it was very informative. its worth taking the time to do it right so it lasts.

That was one of the winter tasks when doing the '72, in the evenings in the garage, spent most of the tim sat on the back seat panel admiring it.... I smoked then too so that must have taken up 4 days of the week :cheese:

I have to do this too. As I often complain about. I think I'm going to use double sided carpet tape to stick the thing up inbetween the ribs. Then fold it over on itself round the edges and use the same technique there. i really dont want to have to go down taking out all of my windows. I think i can do it without. Probably take out the front seats though, So i can move around inside. I'm assuming thats an easy thing to do by the way. how do I get em out?
