Do people still do "show plates" at shows now? I know one big company stopped doing them when the tighter regs came in (last year I think).

Yeah they do them at shows but sold as 'not road legal' :P

For it to be a legally issued full numberplate, you do need to produce a V5 so they can keep record of your details for auditing purposes by the DVLA. It also has to have certain info printed on it since 2001.

Then again, who knows how long you've had those 'show plates', the ones that you forgot to take off after a show at the weekend :tumble:

Well i've got a set of 'show plates' on mine and all the time it's been at 'shows' i've never been pulled over, these are incorrectly spaced ones with studs on them so it says my name xD but i've had no problem with them. Yet.

Yea but if you walk into a "reputable establishment" and say there only for show plates there not gona leave themselves liable on your good word! so odds are you wont get them.


if you find them plates that are black with white digits that come out please let me know where from thanks

Yep I boought a replacement front plate for mine at Bingley!

Or any Mini with an older reg number, as I am sure most police dont know what year a particular mini is. :cry:

You can get Black and Silver / White and Yellow plates in both Acrylic and Pressed Alloy :cry:
