hi, my minis in the bodyshop as of today, having some paint done, he said hell be doing it with 2k, was just wondering what the pros and cons are over cellulose

i know that 2k hardens via chemical reaction and is dodgy *melon*, and cellulose is air drying but what else do i need to know?

Many thanks sam

never ever spray 2pack without an air fed mask, the hardener contains all sorts of nasty things.
it will give you a naturally shinyer finish, celly always needs to be polished and cut smooth to shine, with 2pack how it comes out the gun is generally how it is going to be.

its harder, holds back rust etc for a little longer, however when it chips it really chips.

also remember, you need a hardner in it to spray, however for stone chips and touchups, despite what anyone says, brush it on straight out the tin and it will dry in a few hours.

it is also thicker, so a lot less minor prep work is needed to achieve the same finish.
basically for a mini it is the best way to go

i have sprayed both for years commercially, and i will always choose 2k over anything for a respray. not so easy for smart repairs and blow ins but for a complete shell, you cant beat it, it will last longer and shine far better than any celly paint can no matter how it is finished, cut smooth and polished etc.

Cellulose tends to react with different types of paint leaving bubbles and a ruined paint job
