Just bought a 1990 1 owner Rover Metro Clubman with about 25,000 miles on the clock after the owner had passed away. They'd owned the car since new and it was a typical shammy off the car before putting it in the garage deal. I paid £666.66 for it (A sign? ^_^ ) after spotting it on eBay.

I am planning a 'street sleeper', which to those who don't know is keeping the outside of the car as standard as possible whilst at the same time, tuning the engine to surprising levels. Also hell of a lot cheaper than a mini in the same condition, and also a massive engine bay in comparison!

I drove her back from Hull to Lincoln with no niggles at all and even made 80mph with the 998! Don't want to go too mad in a car I didn't know. I filled her to the brim for £30 and after the 50 mile trip the needle hadn't moved! She's now sitting in the garage until I sell my Astra. The funds from this will be used to pay for the Metro and a mint engine.

I already have a T2 Turbo (£64) and T3 manifold, with T2 adaptor (£65), Although the turbo does need a refurb due to some play in the shaft.

I'd love a sleeper project! What are your plans with the block then? Will you be keeping the 1000?

Yeah Slater's Metro is amazing. I've now read the 35 page build thread! It's good to see it works well and what's the best form of flattery?

I was planning on using the 998 with a T2 turbo (http://www.turbo-mini.com/62147.html)....until this little beauty came along. Holy Phuq it's gonna be quick!...

you are bidding for my metro turbo engine with lots of parts
it came out of my clubman estate aprox 12 years ago
it run 13.6 1/4s on full boost back then without the nos
but started to misfire i checked the compression and No 4 was down 40 psi i took the head off had a look there was no visible damage so i think its a sticking ring?
i then started work on the car and its sat ever since
the winner will get the following
from the bottom up

the gearbox is full syncro heil gears i had an engineering company fit an extra bearing to the end of the main shaft for extra strength its also fitted with a salisbury LSD with semi heil crown and pinion 4.?:1 final drive
A series flywheel set up with paddle clutch and up rated diaphragm
1990 MG TURBO block and rods i think it was rebored +20 BUT THIS I WILL CHECK
crank may be turbo but i cant remember
pistons are turbo but cant remember what make or cc
Race Dizzy with no vac advance fitted with luemition point less ignition and performance HT leads
fast road cam
adjustable duplex timing gear
1275 head ported flowed valves sunk into the head and the chambers opened out for lower compression std gt rockers
T3 metro turbo ported with ported manifold and -31 cozy actuator and braided oil line
MG turbo ported inlet manifold
MG turbo carb highly modified
2wd cozy intercooler
intercooler pipe work (clubman)
fuel pressure regulator
large down pipe with half system
modified fuel tank (estate van pick up)
nitrous single forger turbo kit (you will need bottle and main line) the rest is there
it will also come with all my old stocks of gaskets bearing shells (all mini not all turbo)
and a box of turbo bits and bobs may be of some use

it has all sat for some time but the engine was oil'd before hand and spins freely
i could break it up and sell it in parts and i would more likely get more money for it but it would be ideal for someone planning a turbo job on there mini
Ive driven and owned a lot of performance and sports cars since then and nothing has ever put a smile on my face like my old turbo mini

All for £595 >_<
