Just wondering if anyone knows if I can get a retro looking car stereo with iPod connectivity?
I ask because I want to keep within the retro theme and it'll look odd with a new flashy stereo.
Thanks in advance.

There are some small dedicated ipod controllers which if you wanted to, could shoe-horn into such retro head-unit

Does this fit the bill?

USB listed, not sure about Ipod
...those look perfect for what you want...if you don't mind the price. good thing is, most thick-headed thieves won't look twice at it!

I was googleing one last night and all I found was a Becker Mexico. Looked nice until I found out it costs £2000

Cost more than the car hehehhee.
I might get one from moss. they look the part and pbrain was right about the chavs getting their hands on it. (Which is good).
Sorted. Thanks lads.

There is a company called Tadpole radios. The guy takes an old 70's radio and converts it with Ipod/MP3 inputs and modern high power amps, complete with bass/treble controls, and also installs an FM tuner.
From the front it is impossible to tell the radio is heavily modified and would-be thieves will only see an old MW/LW radio!
Prices vary from a tidy rebuilt Motorola to concourse quality sets. From memory prices range from around £239 onwards.
Cheers,
Steve.

To bring this topic back up again,
Tried contacting tadpole radios a while back as I too am after a retro head unit as opposed to the newer, flashier illuminated type that we've got knocking about at the moment...
However, after sending a couple of emails, I have recieved nothing back, is he still in business? has anyone got any other contact details for him?
Would love to get something sorted even if all I get for now is a quote as to how much this is going to set me back.
Was wondering also how difficult it would be to make some modern speakers look like something you would have recieved in your MGBGT 'back in the day?'
