hi
2 of my friends have just brought mini's. i've dont alot of work on mini's in the past (with great help from this forum) so i will be helping to fix them up.
i have owned a few mini's in the past and none of mine have ever had holes in the sills by the rear of the doors. but both my friends ones have. i asked the guy who we brought one of them from and he said its where the mot station jacked the car up.
niether of them look like rust holes they are more like puncture holes from something like a jack and it is odd that they are on both side's just under the back of the door on both mini's.
so is this done by a jack?
and also is this a mot fail?
cheers

The attachment point for the supplied jack is in end of the cross member that the front seats sit on.

no its not near the a panel its is under the cross member though. so its ok for a hole to be there then?

It should be squarish with a little reinforcement plate around it. A lot of people do weld them up - there should be an inner section that connects to the x member & seals it off, if that's rotted it's easier to cover the hole.
