Just came out of the gym about an hour ago to find that someone had poured something all over my freshly polished mini, i mean whats the point really, what genuinely do people get out of doing it? its not exciting...or fun, it's not even as though they had the nads to stay around or say something to me if they have a problem with my car? sorry to rant guys i just don't get some people i just can't leave it anywhere at all out of all the cars they chose to do it to the mini, what is it about it. its a nice old car that ive spent loads of money on yet people jsut dont respect it and get really upset when they get overtaken :S am i missing something? is it ment to be really slow and look awful, or is a young person not ment to drive it. some people need to sort there lives out and get some respect. frustration isnt the word :/

They're just jealous. Hope it hasn't damaged the paintwork.

Dude, don't let it get you down....some people just don't have any class. Some people think they know everything, and others are just plain rude and get a kick out of it. My wife recently went to the local scrappy to get a license plate light fixture for our Micra. The guy that helped her install the replacement fixture started telling her how rubbish the Mini is when she mentioned that "My husband owns an Austin Mini" (after she saw an old shell of one there). He said "They are the worst car anyone could own.....highly unreliable rot boxes". This kinda floored me only because the Mini is a SYMBOL of British pride! I mean come on! How can ANY Brit NOT like the Mini??? I'm a Yank and I LOVE the Vette and the Mustang. I would think the Mini and the Land Rover would be a patriotic symbol here in England I mean it was DIRECT competition to the VW Beetles that were coming into England....when I look at a Mini I SEE the Union Jack.

But again, don't let these people get you down. Take care of your Mini regardless!

Gazz, its just pure jealousy...

They can't have what you have so they don't want you to be happy - its that scum on the earth that make me want to go around with an AK47!

Is there no CCTV outside the Gym?

Who would do it? The kind of person who sticks their hand in their pants and thinks how many of these would it take to fill a hotdog bun? and answer at least 5, they are sad a pathetic and think it makes them "hard", I am sure (and hope) that fact it was a mini has nothing to do with it and it was just another mindless act.

i have had similar problems, i live on a private estate which is near a scum estate, it does seem to be just classic cars this happens to on my estate!

Although they did break into a fiesta i had, let the handbrake off, pushed it down the hill i live on, which is quite steep, it mounted a kerb, went down a bank and into the side of someones house!

I now chain my mini to a big heavy steel fence post and have a security light, which switches on whenever people go near it.

Well the retard working at the local scrap yard is now used to seeing modern cars with little or no rust that get scrapped due to being written off in accidents or due to mechanical or electrical failure which renders those modern cars uneconomical to repair.

But chances are the Minis he sees getting scrapped are rust buckets that have fallen apart and that's alien to him.

So just look at these people as being ignorant and take pity on them for not knowing any better.

I'm glad your Mini wasn't badly damaged and I hope they get their chavvy Saxo's and Corsa's written off.

Britain is clearly going on the right path to hell. So last person to leave please switch out the lights.

I doubt you'd get our local news, but my hilly Taffland is currently on fire and it's not even Summer yet. The smell of burning outside is very strong.

I just think 90% of people living in cities are horrible, selfish, ignorant, arrogant and so on. And I honestly believe that percentage.

People do real need to get a life. It's probably younger people with nothing better to do. Yes it's bad and very sad and it's like when people leave trollies in the supermarket carpark so they roll off and hit someones car. Or like me where in my own work car park ( not a very big place of work so people know one and other fairley well) let the car door mopen into mine and take a chunk of paint off. Didn't let me know, didn't leave any note or anything. Thing is I think I know who it was and that they drive a nice shiney BMW z4. But that fine as I'm one not to bother anyone about it as it's more hassle than it's worth. I knew I was going for another respray so water off a ducks back for now.

Back to topic the only thing I can say but don't want to worry you is a trick people use is throwing brake fluid over peoples cars. If it's left and not cleaned totaly off then the paint is in trouble. Worth another clean in every little knock and cranny to make sure. But chances are if it was in a public place middle of the day it's probably just a drink that they didn't want.
