Picking it up after work today.
The list is as follows;
new rear shoes (old ones were almost new, but)
rear brake adjusters seized so old shoes were stuck on
front calipers dismantled and unstuck, (this car had been sitting for 3 months......)
re-shimmed all 4 balljoints on the front suspension,
new wheel bearing (hub-off job)
remove/refit exhaust,
carb set-up,
welding in the boot, as "the mot guy didnt like seeing daylight through some old welding",
and the mot test.
Comes to £485 :) :lol:
Worth it though to get my baby back for a year
:thumbsup:
Been without a Mini on the road for 5 months really, so cant wait!

Drove her home tonight. Then out again. And again! Missed it soooo much! All the rumbles and knocks and rattles have gone, as has the massive drone from the exhaust (or lack of). I hadnt thought of wheelbearing issues, although in hindsight there was a grinding noise from the nearside hub.....

And, I was shocked at the CO level in emissions- 0.207%! And she runs like a dream! Done about 25-30 miles mostly around town and she hasnt used any fuel at all on the gausge.
