Hey peeps!

Up until christmas, my family and I were using AOL Broadband, and we got a free laptop for signing up to their deal, after 2 years, lappy is ours now to keep. They provided a good reliable service.

Since Christmas, we had 2 months offline with no solution or even an explanation, and lately, we've lost and been reconnected 8 times in just a month....

Are there any other people on AOL having these problems? Is it just us? We're getting pretty fed up with it now!! :)

AOL are pure poo. Our internet was ok for the first year or 2 like you say but after that we were getting disconnected all the time at weekends and the connection kept dropping about once an hour. When we rang up after being cut off for the weekend they said they'd been carrying out maintenance, but never apologised or gave us any sort of warning.

The connection helpline thing, the guy just kept telling us to move our router all over the house to see if it made any difference - It never did. They also charge you a fair bit for this helpline service if i remember correctly and we filed for some compensation off them which we got so that was ok.

Once our contract was up with them we got out ASAP and got Sky 20mb which has been great. Still lose the connection every now and again, but with sky you know its a problem at their end because you get a message on your browser to tell you and apologise and its usually back on within 5 minutes anyway.

Hmm glad to see we're not the only ones having a problem with them. They told us they were doing maintenance over new year but as you said, no apology or warning :)

Ugg! Anyone else having problems?

I've been with them for 2-3 years now, and only ever lost connection once.

Not had any problems in the 8 years we've been with them, although our internet isn't exactly fast nowadays.

My dad phoned them trying to get a laptop from them too  Bit of a cheek, we're loyal customers and have been for years and yet if your new you get a free bloody laptop! cheek.

Ugg  I'm gonna have to phone them again

How do you be polite in making a point of having countless problems over a month? >_< It's not the person at the other end of call's fault afterall!
