At the start of April, I'm taking the Mini out of hibernation!!

However, I've tried to charge the battery, and it won't hold the charge for long; it seems that, although the car's been garaged, the temperature has taken it's toll on the battry.

Which type/size of battery is best to use; will an 063 or 075 fit into the recess?

Just wondering what batteries people on here use.

Cheers!

075 fits like a glove.

I think an 096 might fit, but not been brave enough to try it

my vote goes for the 075 - got mine for around £50 inc VAT local motor factors. Very pleased, plus it doesn't really need the battery bracket, although i did put a 2" piece of timber underneath the battery, to raise it up - as the Positive lead was V close to the battery box.

I've heard over and over again that the batteries fitted to the Peugeots 306D are good - which just to let you know is the 075 type.

I thought that was the 063 type? I got the 075 and it said it's for the BMW318i. I think the standard Mini battery is 038.

You maybe right - although I checked on here and it recomended the 075 for the 306D?

They're saying the 318i is an 065 type? (so confusing!)

Thanks for the replies; looks like I'll be getting an 075 then! Got one of those in my Escort and it seems good. Besides, probably best to have a slightly beefier battery now I've got 4 spotlights on the front!

Found this site very cheap for batteries.

http://www.performancebatteries.co.uk/

I got my Mum a Varta battery for her Rover Streetwise and it was cheaper than my local Motor Factors where i get 20%discount.

Its free next day delivery and Its cheaper than Tanya.co.uk aswell. :)
