Nearly had it.

My pal had a standard one as his first car when I had a mini. A mutual friend had a Stiletto (had forgotten what they were called), a gold coloured one.

Later on, another pal bought one to go stage rallying in. Had a full on race spec 998 engine with front mounted water cooling and an exhaust across the full width of the rear.

That thing didn't half shift. He got placed in a few races and on the twisty circuits like the 3 sisters in Wigan, he would leave the Escorts for dead.

Those were the days.

There you go, that's where the doubt is. I found one Stiletto with single headlamps but it's quite heavily modded

Well, award yourself points if you guessed right, or you would have guessed right if you hadn't been misled.

What we have here is a Stiletto (twin headlamps) and an Imp Californian. I'm told the Californian shared bodyshells with the Singer Chamois Coupe, but this is the former.

Anyway the guy restoring a Stiletto has sold these two. But he has two more tucked away.

Stand by for the next *male chicken*-up >_<

I guessed the Stilleto, a friend of mine had one 20 years ago and it had a Toyota motor in it, went quite well but wasnt a match for my RS2000 replica Escort. Cool looking car tho.

His car had a water leak into the cabin, and he would always turn up smelling like mold.

A mate of mine sold his Imp Sport a couple of weeks ago - it had a 1750 Alfa flat 4 in it on a beetle gearbox. Standing start it would nearly get air at the front end - usually just before spitting the nose off the gearbox.
