I always thought that Honda engines need a new subframe and needed the wings extending. Might be wrong though...

I'm sorry, I don't mean to be rude but please do a little research.

Your "question" is awfully vague and you can find pages and pages of what you are after. We've all been in a position in which we know nothing about a subject we would like to know a lot about; I know I (just like yourself) have been getting interested in 16valve minis and so have done my research. I used websites like www.16vminiclub.com and the engine conversion category of this very forum.

It isn't difficult to do a little browsing on the internet; read a few FAQs, look at what other people have done. You'll start to become more interested in one specific engine conversion (for me, the K series) and you can then research more into that.

So again, I don't want to be rude but next time, think before you post.

Ninja edit: to try and be a little helpful. I believe the Suzuki Swift engine fits under the standard round nose, the Rover K series engine will but it is difficult (90mm extension is the easiest way) I also believe it is a similar case for the V-Tec. Both the K series and V-Tec will fit up to 1.8l, any bigger and it's a different block which wont fit.
You can get subframes from allspeed (I think) or you can fabricate your own using the existing subframe. The K series will fit to a metro subframe but that needs the 90mm extension on the nose anyway.

Erm, I think that's the extent of my knowledge.

you will have to extend round nose minis by 4"s to fit any other engine aswell as modded subs.........years back you could purchase a G/box conversion plate so you could use a ford engine on a mini box as this ment you did not need to alter front end just fitted straight in.............

You can get a Honda lump without extending the nose although it'll be VERY tight - someone in the latest MiniWorld had to extend his nose.

Watsons do subframes for the VTEC lumps.

Thanks Ninja

darth not to be rude back, but I have looked and researched the subject, was just wondering if anyone had the "street knowledge".

I personally like the suzuki swift concept as mentioned by ninja above.

After all in the question was posted in the "mini Chat" so If this has upset you I sorry.

I personally thought "Chat" meant to "discuss and get overs views"

There was a white and black one with loads of carbon fibre with a vauxhall engine in in mini mag a while back, dont think hed extended the front. not sure how well it runs though, must get hot in there with a big engine and small bay.

Will fit under round nose:
Toyota 4age
Toyota 4efte
8v K series
8v Vaux
Nissan CG13DE
Suzi G13B, or just the G13 8v
3 cyl Diahatsu

Not a definitve list - and some of the above are easier than others.

A lot of it depends on the gearbox used too.
