As we speak i am attempting to create a wireless timing light. there are 2 reasons for this. firstly i had to create an electronic product for my collage course, but secondly i fancied a challange.

to do this though i need to know the voltage and current output of a standard coil.

Can anyone help me out here or point me to where i can find this information, as i have been searching high and low for hours now and cant find it anywhere. i cant even just run out to my mini because im in collage with no access to a multimeter

Thanks

They all have an unregulated battery/alternator supply. Primary winding resistances also vary - an electronic coil is around 1ohm, ballasted & unballasted systems have a total of about 3ohms. Most timings lights pick up an inducted signal off a HT lead.
