hiya,

thinking of giving my rocker cover a respray will it be ok to take it and leave it off for a while while i paint it ect or do i need to cover where the rocker would have been with somethink thanks inadvance

You cannot run the engine with no rocker cover on it........
If the car is laid up then cover the rocker with something like plastic to stop dust and bits getting into it as this gets directly into your oilways and can cause issues.

yh im 16 not using the car i might just buy a ready painted 1

Why not get another unpainted one cheap, paint it, swap them over, then paint your old one and sell it for more than you bought the other one for. :thumbsup:

It depends on how long it's going to take for you to paint it - make sure you get rid of all of the flakey paint/oil etc before hand.

If you're going to buy one, look at the chrome or alloy rocker covers.

Painting a rocker cover is a nice easy job if you've not done anything like this before. The advice above is good. Get on eBay and find a shabby looking cover, spend plenty of time prepping it, priming it and then your choice of top coat and you'll have something to be proud of :thumbsup:
