Hi.....
just got car back from the garage today and the heater is only blowing cold air!!

Everything was working fine before and we are off to the alps in a few days so need some expert advice.

The cable doesnt feel taught when I pull it so this could be the culprit??? (its a 91 city)

Trying to find how to get to cable in haynes manual but to no avail??

anyone else had same problems HHHEEELLLPPPPP!!!!!

Thanks

Lee

Get the engine warm and manually move the heater tap so that it allows the warm water into the matrix.

If that doesnt work, check that you're stat is working correctly, that you actually have coolant in the radiator and that your water pump is pumping.

Under the bonnet your heater valve will either be here...

Or here...

Wherever it is, see if it moves when the cable is pushed or pulled. Let us know which type of valve it is too.

IT is as in picture number 1, but it isnt in the retaining clip.
When you pull the heater switch out, the cable moves forward, I was expecting the opposite?? is this right

Photo has helped no end though thanks

Is the outer sheath of the cable fixed to the bracket? If not then it needs to be, otherwise the cable itself isn't going to be able to open the valve.
