im thinking of putting in a large sound system in a mini and i was just wondering would i be best putting bigger battery & alternator on the car?

if so which battery would be best and still fit in the battery compartment and which alternator too.

if any one can help or suggest anything it would be greatly appreciated.

cheers in advance

a deisel pug battery rings a bell but i can't remember the model of pug or battery number
someone will be along to help further with that ;)

could always fit a new alty, just depends how much power the whole system will be producing really.

sorry to thread hi-jack but does anyone know what alternators fit a mini without mounting mods. I know the pulley will prob need changing on most of the but my 70amp alternator is really struggling since fitting the newer sound system.

...i bought mine a couple of years ago off ebay, there was a bloke selling hi-power chromed alternators, i sent a message asking if he did one to fit a 1275 mini and he did, works a treat, fitted perfectly with no mods...all i know is it's a 150amp bosch.

A month after buying, i was told of a place in Stoke-on-Trent that can supply a 300amp alternator to fit! I don't know any details or names, touch wood, my 150 amp has been up to the job so far.
