Okay basically the main beam warning light doesn't work strictly speaking it is no major issue but is quite puzzling and annoying i swear that mini wiring has a live unto its own.

Background Ive just changed my clocks from two to three cluster, in doing this i bought a second hand 3 clcok cluster then swapped the printed circuits over and attached the rev counter to my 2 clock cluster simples ;) .

Before i did this i tested both units and they worked fine. the bulb does work as i've swapped it around ;)

Interesting bit is the cable block at the back all the wires are corrected and don't appear to be loose also the printed circuit appears fine bearing in mind they all worked moments ago.

When i was having a bit fiddles i left the main beam on and tried removing the cable block as i did the bottom two warning lights went out and the main beam one flickered on
I took this to mean the circuit wasn't making enough contact with the block so i bent it back over itself so the cable block actually pushed up against the circuit but nada.

Any suggestions

Check the connection at the bulb holder is good also. If it flickered, it sounds as though there is a loose contact.

Thats what i thought it has to be at the bulb holder but how as all it is a printed circuit, unless its out of line mmmm..

Nope all the contacts are true theres no obvious fault in the circuit.

The flickering was only as i removed the cable block connector to a funny angle of the top out and the bottom still in but when in the contactors are all connected it is very weird could be a fault with the actual printed circuit?

Is the 2 clock circuit different to the 3 clock circuit in terms of the wires in the cable block needing rearranging, or is it just a short in the circuit that only a new circuit will fix.
