Hi every one, hope the winter hasnt been to hard on your minis. I have a quick question that has been puzzling me all day and im hoping some one might know.

Model: Rover Mini Cooper 1275
Year:1991
Description of problem (please be as in depth as possible): Basically I went to change the spark plugs today and 3 of the plugs were as dry as anything but the 4th plug was covered in oil and petrol. The 4th Being the one closest to the radiator. I have taken the rocker cover and the cylinder head off to see if there is any evidence of piston wear of anything like that. To my surprise there is no evidence of the piston rings being broken and there is no warping on the piston its self. As you can probably tell im a bit stumped as to what it could be.

Any non-standard parts that might be involved with the problem? There are no non-standard parts involved although i have a small inckling that the head has been off before but when and what for i have know idea.

Thanks for you help guys

Tim

Maybe just a dodgy plug or HT lead - you should have tried another plug before launching in to head removal! Better inspect/grind-in the valves now before refitting the head.
