Steering Column Damage

hello all

hope someone can help, i have a 1989 mini Mayfair that has a damaged steering column thread, i am trying to find out the size of the thread so i can get the correct tool to re-cut the thread. any help or guidance will be greatly appreciated.

you could possibly take the nut to an engineer ,find the tap to fit the nut that will tell you what die to use

I assume you mean the thread at the top - that secures the steering wheel ? How did it get damaged ??? Probably best to just carefully correct it with a triangular Swiss file. Die or die-nut for that thread will be hard to find!

thanks for the help, the swiss triangular file did the trick in the end, saved me a lot of money, thankyou for the advise
