Model: Mini Cooper S
Year: 2006
Description of problem (please be as in depth as possible): First post so be gentle! I have a 2006 Cooper S, only has 14000 on the clock. I just want to try to gauge opinion on road noise at 55 mph plus (not an easy thing to do I know!) I can hear a low repetitive humm at 50/55 mph plus, It's not really loud as I can't hear it above the stereo. It's not a constant noise either, the noise is spaced out by a couple of seconds or so. I'm wondering if anyone can put my mind at rest the noise and advise if its quite normal at that speed or if I need to take it into a garage to be checked out? Thanks.

Any non-standard parts that might be involved with the problem?

Suggestion would be, to check tyre pressures etc, but also does it happen on a particular road ? it may just be the road surface.

I'd properly take it to a garage to get it checked out just to be sure if it was mine :)

It sounds EXACTLY like a problem my wife had on her Pug. Turned out to be a wheel bearing....
