Mrs T has had an argument with a fuel pump and has spilt £1.19 worth of diesel on her jeans & shoes. Any tips on shifting it, please?

Put them in the washing machine, by themselves and wash them about 5 times. Oh and they'll smell too much for Mrs T. So I guess it's the bin.

Cheers. I'll let you know what works, if anything does. Vinegar is our first choice.

Never met Diesel let alone got her out of clothes. Really try White viniger. Or a petrol dip.

Bucket of warm water and a good dose of washing up liquid and let them soak. Then in the washing machine with plenty of detergent.

Diesel is an oil, detergent breaks oil down. Vinegar won't touch it.

Also, diesel is very nasty if you get it on your skin - a good soapy wash and moisturise afterwards is advised - I got a facefull of the stuff once, next day I looked like the elephant man, and then my face fell off. (Well all the skin did).

That's a good point. Soaking in detergent is the next step. What we don't want to do is put them in the washer until most of the smell is gone.

Try the strong Fairy stuff for soaking.

I would suggest soaking in petrol, hanging on the clothesline and then flicking a lit match at them. There would be no more diesel left.
