Hello TMF members,

5% of Commercial Insurance Premiums to MacMillan Cancer Support

We're a commercial insurance broker based in Essex and we arrange cover for companies of all types and size throughout the UK.

As a special promotion to TMF users we're going to give 5% of premium on policies taken out with us to TMF's charity of choice, Macmillan Cancer Support.

If you've got a business, or have friends that do, get in contact with us and we'll do what we can to provide a great quotation. (Make sure you mention where you heard about us though.)

If you've got a query about your commercial insurance post a message here and I'll try my best to help out.

A big thanks to Bungle, Vern's playmate and MiniMadJonesy for helping us get on the forum.

Hi Bungle,

It sounds as though Jonesy's been a busy boy recently. (a late congrats and all that).

Did you get your policy docs through? and how was the PL quote? I expect it might need the limits tweaking.

The first policy contributing to MacMillan is For an Electrical Contractor! :)

Thanks Bungle. I've sent confirmation of cover over to you via email. Let me know if you need anything else!

If anyone else wants a hand placing their liability or office covers then drop me a line.

Do you have a minimum age for your trade insurance. I am finding it very hard to get cover for myself as im only 18. To go on my dads insurance i have to be 23. I need something to cover me driving brand new 4x4 pickups between storage and forecourt aswell as a few longer trips. Thanks :(

I'm surprised that your Dad's insurer won't extend cover for you. I expect it's because 4x4's have larger engines and first point of call would be to speak to your current broker to see what the insurer will do (with insurance the answer is very rarely no, you just need to pay for it).

We've had similar situations here where we've provided cover for younger drivers but we can't do it in isolation; it would have to be part of a more experienced drivers policy and you would carry a higher excess and of course premium will increase.

I'd quite happily have a look at the main policy when it comes round to renew but changing things mid term could possibly lose you no claims bonus.

It's ok. I'm easily confused. I wouldn't be able to arrange cover for you on your own. I could only do under 21's as part of a larger traders policy.

This isn't our area of expertise as we're aiming at business' like Martin and Carl (thanks for the call, Carl I'll get back to you ASAP) but when it comes to vehicle insurance you're best off speaking to someone like admiral. They have a multi vehicle cover that they advertise heavily on the tv. If it were me, that's where I'd be calling.

Cheers
