The other side of the coin tho - If I buy a new set of calipers from Minispares - they are new, have not been sitting around and potentially corroded inside etc (like any used part could be). There is a guarantee on the new ones, Minispares are a reputed supplier - wont steal your money (not saying that you will, but it does happen on forums). For this - I reckon buying second hand should attract a good discount, depending on age and condition, anywhere between 50% down to 30% off would be about right for newish stuff, up to 70% for older tattier stuff. Then when something is rare, original and hard to get - may be worth more than normal retail prices.
At least when you get really low offers you know people are interested in what you are selling, you will just have to wait for the right offer.

I heard of an older couple selling their sons 'old junk' out of their garage - had some Escort motors, asked for offers.
Some lucky person turned up - offered $200 and walked away with one BDA Engine all complete ready to use and another all in parts.
I guess if the person doesnt know what they are selling and what they are worth - bargains can be had!

If you want top dollar for you items split them up and put them on Flea bay
Thing is with that you will want to put a reserve on otherwise you could still end up giving them away. You could get lucky though but its a gamble.

Good things come to those who wait, oh and it sometimes helps to be cheeky.

I think the saying Bungle uses is close to: If you don't ask, you have an automatic No.
