Model: clubman 1275gt
Year: 1980
Description of problem (please be as in depth as possible):

as desribed really, if you Know what its like to be playing cod & suddently you start lagging out.. haha, Generally im having troubles picking up speed when I get to around 45.. foot goes down, but the car is really struggling to get there & then all of the sudden, BANG, its like the carb suddently sucks in loads of air, you can hear it, then I have to slow down & slowly build up speed, now the other day it was o.k, I put petrol in it on the way home & it did it again, so im guessing its some time of fueling problam as its drinking abit, also my clutch arm has gone, the bal on the end is really worn, & my bite point is like 1mm of the floor, but doesnt crunch into gear, seems to engage fine, any cables, pipes to check? Tar

Sounds like it needs a set up, if its drinking fuel then its running rich and is bogging down. Timing should also be checked but usualy is when being sent in for a tune.

If the ball on the clutch arm is worn then you need a new clutch arm as this wont be helping, check to see if there is any air locks in the hydraulic system (bleed it a bit).

has your dashpot got oil in it? if its dry then it would explain the bogging down

no idea on the clutch
