hi, ive just fitted a new 3 peice clutch (verto) and have also renewed the thrust sleeve along with the slave cylinder and rods prior to it being generally worn. problem is that when you drive the car about 40mph or acellerate quickley the clutch slips . ive only just fitted this today and have done about 30 miles in it thinking that maybe it needs to bed in .is this normal for a new clutch or have i done something wrong. there is no oil leaks in the casings so i ruled that out and the flywheel is not worn .
many thanks

have you checked the clutch end float. look in the haynes manual. its the two nuts on the end of the clutch arm/bell housing. i think it needs to be 14mm but dont quote me on that

I have found that the 3-piece kits come with very weak springs, the same happend to me. eventually, when I worked out it was a rubbish spring I chucked the old one back on and it was fine.

Certainly don't let it continue to slip - it will be ruined in no time. Strip it out and investigate.
