hi.. i want to make my wire joins better buy solder them then useing the heat shrink to get seal but where can you by the hot air gun from??

I've used a cigi lighter on heat shrink before, works fine. A lot smaller and cheaper than a hot air gun and doesn't need plugging in! I've now got a hot air gun as it's a useful tool.

I would have thought most DIY stores would have them. Look in the paint/decorating department as they're often used as paint strippers :thumbsup:

Always used the soldering iron....just move it quickly in a stroking manner.

I have a butane lighter fuelled soldering iron, great for when no electric and it has like a how blower head that just blows out heat and many other attachments like a hot knife cutter and of course a soldering head!

I use a little gas torch for heatshrinking, It works very well and can be used for other little jobs too :thumbsup:

Hot air gun always gives us best results at work.

Oh and make sure you use the adhesive lined heat shrink :thumbsup:

i got my heat gun from wilkinsons, for 20 pound. I mainly bought it to remove the soundproofing crap when i put the mini on a diet, lol

Most B&Q sell the hot-guns, but for small work...as mentioned i've used cig lighter.

Once your happy with your job well done, then do some rapid stroking :- (sorry...couldn't resist)
