hey guy just got towed home and pretty down now when to treat my mini lola to white paint for the roof when she died on me:( . Its an auto box and thats decide to pack up was told it seems like the pump in the gearbox had given up because it wont select a gear.

Now what are my opinions? i cant afford alot so what would be the cheap opinion i dont really want to scrap her the shel is in very good nick and i've just finished dg the inside up.

/ quick cheap manual conversion till you can afford the Auto 'box rebuild, if you have a manual license.

There are many, many threads about this on the forum. It is a reasonably simple job to convert. Easiest way is to get a whole engine/gearbox unit, as the engine block and crankshaft are different from auto to manual. It is possible to use your existing subframe, with a couple of spacer plates fitted between the engine and subframe. I believe these have to be 10mm plate, but are available from places like minispares. Dont forget though, you will also need a clutch master cylinder, a gear selector rod and clutch pedal.

very easy to convert to manual - mine started as a 998 auto, then a 1275 manual and now a 1330 manual.

my uncle runs his own garage in maidstone and helped me do mine originally, and I live in t wells.

but i would look for a cheapish 998 to drop in, alternator starer etc should be the same; but you will need the gear selector, pedal box and master cylinder too. Na some 8mm plates seem to have secured mt engine safely.

any advice feel free to contact me :-
