Thinking of upgrading my distributor before my next rolloing road session. engine is a 1330 A-Series with 8.6 CR and VMAX carb setup using a standard non vac distributor with points
Stuart at VMAX has suggested an Aldon Yellow with Vac and ignitor. does this sound right to you guys? what are the other options.

There is no dizzy that will suit the advance curve required of a supercharged engine. Even a Metro Turbo one won't really work. It'll be safe but not optimised.
Mapped ignition is the way to go, don't waste you money on an Aldon dizzy.

If the maximum advance is set to 25 deg then I guess it'll work. But the lower rpm advance will be more retarded than required and cruise advance will be way out. I can't really see it being any better than a standard dizzy, other than by total fluke.

Does anyone know of the possibility of fitting a trigger wheel on the supercharger bottom pulley?

Current one has no vac which means it is not optimal for anything other than full throttle. Also Metro Turbo one will not fit as that is for an A+ and this is an A
I would like to go with megajolt megasquirt but can justify the cost at the moment

After several calls today I have settled on the Aldon Red but with a vac advance... apparently Aldon have done a few for SC setups latley (although they are not in their catalog yet) so hopfully it should be good.

Seams a waste to not do it both.
I'm running metro turbo dissy & works well from low down & mid power range which to be honest is 80% of driving
on the road

No doubt it will be tight, and you would have to do a lot of work in terms of wiring.
BUT! You get a tailored ignition curve and data logging options.
Even still trigger wheels do a kit for 280 all in.

can i ask if people can give more details on these cheaper mappable ignitions that have been put together please

as for the if your doing ignition you might as well do fuel claim, granted you get more power but it costs sooooooo much more so won't be happening
