Hi,

Ive found a 2000 Sportspack mpi with a years mot-unfortunately its got the usual rust coming through, although its relatively solid at the moment it will require massive restoration in the very near future which may not be economical. Was thinking we could just use it as a run around for the next year with a view to restoring it. As a back up if it was beyond economical repair-how much i could get for it from someone that breaks them?

Cheers Andy

Why not restore it now before another year takes its toll. The longer you leave it, the more expensive it will be.

Hi,

Thanks for the response. My intention is to restore the car-the last thing i want to do is send yet another mini to the scrap yard, i was just asking about a price "just in case its to bad" to give me an idea of if id be able to claw back the money that the car cost me. Id try and sell it as a restoration project first.

Cheers Andy

im in the same situation my mpi will not pass the next MOT and needs a full restoration which i dont have the time or money for. if i where to sell it as it is i'd probably get £800-£1000 but i've priced up parts and if i where to be able to sell every thing i'd be looking at £1500 -£2000. so when im done with it the grinder will be coming out the shell scrapped and parts sold off
