Hello,

I am currently building a new aluminum dashboard and want to get rid of the original switches for new toggle switches. i am only keeping the headlights and hazard features. My car is a 1980 Morris with a 1293 engine and to my knowledge everything electrical is stock.

My question is how do I know what switch to replace the headlights rocker switch.
the stock switch has 1 power ans two loads coming into the switch. but im not sure what type of toggle I need.
Amop would be 20+ to be safe. but not sure on the poles or throws..... ?

Any help on this matter would really help.

Thanks in advance

Cody

The headlamp switch needs to be a single pole, three position called an off/A/A+B. The hazard switch needs to be a 4 pole double throw changeover. There is lots of information here about toggle switches if you search. I assume you have found another way to make the brake fluid warning work because it is both legally required and an important safety device.

but then my bro in law is an electrical engineer so i gave him a vission and he made it work lol!

If you're getting rid of the brake fluid tester completely then at least get a fluid tester like... >clicky<

Like dan says it's important in terms of safety. You can get them much cheaper on ebay too. Might be worth putting a hidden switch and warning light as you should have the wiring already there.
