Description of problem (please be as in depth as possible): Im looking for the rubber seal that goes around the top edge of the roof as mine feels like its dried up and is lifting off easily. It's called gutter trim and there are many different options available, although I don't think it was ever rubber. What do you mean Cooper S? What conversion pack is it? Maybe one of the garages was using a rubber trim. As standard it was a solid trim that came in two pieces, one for each side. These are fairly pricey and most people replace them with a rolled material when the time comes. It's available in a few colours and designs and needs to be applied warm to allow it to unroll and mould to the body so leave it in a bucket of very hot water for a while before fitting. All the Mini specialists stock it.

sorry im still new to mini's. Its a 1998 Rover mini cooper s(badge on boot says cooper s)
It is hard plastic and from what i can see is in two pieces, its just lifting away very easily from the corners and wondered if this was because it needed replacing

Well there are no Rover Cooper S models, it can only really be a Cooper S if it was converted by John Cooper Garages in Worthing. It might be that they were changing some of the trim but from what you've said it's just standard plastic.

It was a warm and sunny day today (or it was here anyway), the trim isn't exactly dimensionally stable. It stretches and shrinks a lot. See if it's as loose in the morning. Replacing it might help for a while but in 5 years or so it will be as loose again as it is now.

It might be an S, it has a John Cooper Garages sticker in the rear screen after all. Have you got any documents? What colour is the head?

shes sent the V5 documents off, still waiting on them, i would be shocked if its an s! as my insurance was cheaper than my old 1.2 fiesta. I'll get you an engine bay picture tomorrow if this will help, all i know is its been modified with a K&N and a janspeed exhaust. She does seem pretty nippy but 0-60 is stil about 12seconds
