In the past few years ive always run my mini off Duckhams Q Classic oil. I do lots of very short journeys in my car to the train station and back and its started to develop mayo due to the cold damp time of year.
Ive decided its probably time i changed to oil to clean things up a bit. I'm finding it increasingly hard to get Duckhams around my area but can get Penrite stuff from my local moss very easily.
Is the Penrite stuff on par with Duckhams? The engines a fairly modified 1330.
Thanks

Don't know anything about the Penrite but it is a reasonable name inoil and I doubt Moss would stock poor quality stuff.
However - Halfords Classic is good and readily available. But if you have a decent motor fctor that stocks Comma oils then get Comma Classic - same as Halfords but better priced.

Penrite is as good, or even slightly better than Duckhams.
If you look on the an it will have a label with an API code. It will be API/S*, the letter in the plae of the star is the quality indication, and the higher the letter the better the grade. For example, API/SJ is better than API/SG.
Another good alternative is Castrol Classic 20w50. The best is probably 'Valvoline Racing 20w50'.
