Hey folks.
buying some DodoJuice car wax at the end of the month as I'm nearly out of the turtlewx I've been using. Heard great things about their 'colour-charged' mid-range waxes and see it as a good balance of price and quality.
My cooper is a pearled BRG, so I need a dark colour but I have no idea whether to buy a Hard wax (Blue Velvet) or Soft (purple haze).

I've only used liquid waxes before now, so input from anyone with any experience of hard vs soft waxes would be much appreciated.

thanks all

Austintatious is out of my price range sadly or I would have got some ;D
Having spent a day or two trying to find out the merits of hard vs soft wax I've bought some collinite 915 anyway. Better reviews at a lower price. Will spend the extra on some better shampoo and polish.

I did fin out that generally, a hard wax lasts longer, while a soft wax imparts a better 'wet' look, and that the more obsessive detailers are layering hard over soft to combine the results.

I use Blue Velvet on mine, beads like crazy. Its solid, and so far (after about 2years) i've only managed to make a half inch dent in the tub! I tend to layer it when I have the time, but if you're looking for something thats bulletproof and will last a long time try Collinite 476S or FinishKare 2685 - both are ridiculously resilient and last for ages. ;D

If you like using liquid waxes, as many do, look into Dodo's "Need for Speed". This is just as brilliant as the other products they do!

You cant go wrong with collonite waxes they last for ages, you easily get 4-6 months protection from a layer :)

I prefer hard and putting it on with your hands helps you to find any imperfections

I've forked out some money and bought Austintatious (luckily still available from a German dealer) - however, it looks pretty dark and colourful. Do you guys think I can use it on my white Mini?

As above, the Collinite 476 sets like concrete and lasts forever. If it's a daily driver I'd recommend that.

... but if you like polishing and the car is dry stored, the Dodo Juice stuff is brilliant!

... just a quick note, the blue-coloured wax worked well on my Mini and the only things that got stained were the buffing microfibres :proud:

(I just like the idea of having a car wax especially made for the Mini  )
