Hi

Can anyone tell me the standard factory bhp for the following:

Mini Cooper Sportspack (MPi)
Mini Cooper Sport Sportspack (MPi)
Mini Cooper John Cooper Works (MPi)

Mini Cooper (SPi)
Mini 1.3 (SPi)

All later models roughly 98-00.

Thanks
Andy

Firstly, model years

SPI 92-96
MPI Late 96-2000

I'm not 100% sure on SPI engines, but all MPI's that rolled off the production line had 63bhp. There weren't any standard engine options. As for the cooper works, they sold it as 90bhp, but as far as I'm aware none of these conversions have came close enough to really call it 90. It was ussually around 84-86.

Dont know to much about spi, but here is Mpi

Mini Cooper Sportspack (MPi) - 63 BHp from factory, but usually make around 58 ish on the rollers
Mini Cooper Sport Sportspack (MPi) - exactly the same engine as above, only cosmetic difference.
Mini Cooper John Cooper Works (MPi) - basically its a stage 3 head, rockers and larger tb, plus ported inlet manifold. Claimed at 90, but mostly seen making around low 80's.

Its the ECU on teh MPI that lets the side down

Mike
