hi all.

ive started changing the way my black 1988 mini mayfair looks, ie mk1 grille, overiders, mk2 rear lights, lucas reverse light, P700 headlights, centre speedo.

im now looking for some nice mirrors, something a bit different, i was looking at the round lucas mirrrors on a stem (mounted via single bolt), but i have to many holes already where mirrors are, and cant afford to have them sorted and door painted at the mo, i thought about these , the base is long and sleek and will cover original holes , without me doing anything to them, well apart from a grommet or 2.

its says they may be rare, but there not, you can get them new on classic car websites.

what do you think, maybe you have a picture of them on a mini and could post it up for me

thanks

They look rather Retro!

I like them. They look more like the mirrors you would find on the wing rather than the door. I am not sure how much you would actually see in them? I know some of the bullet mirrors people have described as being fairly useless! You need to be a jedi when over taking and "use the force!"

Its not the adjustableness that I think the issue with them was.... i think the issues was the vibrations meant you couldnt see anything in them

once fitted to the door i don't think you will be able to see them

the minis mirror fixings are quite low down, if you look at mini mirrors they have a stalk to raise the height of the mirror

I have similar ones from Moss (Item B)

The base covers up the factory mirror holes, I got away with drilling only one new hole. The stem's angled so you can actually see behind you decently.
